HEALTH AND SAFETY

Health Standards - Guidelines for Illness:A child is not admitted if he or she is known to have exhibited any symptoms in the preceding 24-hour period given on our list of very specific daily health criteria (i.e. temperature over 100°). The child is sent home if he or she develops any of these symptoms while at the center. Please contact us for further detail information if needed.

Nutrition: 
A balanced diet and planned nutritional meals and snacks are provided for all children. We follow USDA standards for nutrition. Breakfast is served between 7-9am, lunch at 12pm and afternoon snack at 3:30pm.

Medical Requirements:
All children are required to have a medical exam by a licensed physician who can certify a list of specific guidelines set by the State of Virginia. Please contact us for further detail information if needed.

Medications:
Happy Home has a stringent set of guidelines that are followed in accordance with the State of Virginia licensing requirements. Generally, the only medications given will be those that are prescribed by a physician. Please contact us for further detail information if needed.

Accidents or Injuries:
In the event of an accident Happy Home has a set of guidelines that are followed. An incident report will be filled out and noted in the child's permanent records and parents are notified. Please contact us for further detail information if needed.

Hygiene:
Children through the age of 5 will frequently be required to wash their hands and face. A change of clothes must also be provided by the parent in the event that the clothing becomes overly soiled. All 4 and 5 year olds brush their teeth after the last snack.
